Now Linda Napolitano is Suing Netflix and Has Written Her Own Book About Her UFO Abduction

By David Haith

Linda Napolitano, the woman featured in 'The Manhatten Alien Abduction' has confirmed that she too is suing Netflix over the three part film series......and she's written her own book about the event.

This follows an announcement by the estate of Budd Hopkins and others involved in his book 'Witnessed' that they will be seeking redress "for the hit job defaming them about the true story” of the UFO abduction

In the defamation lawsuit she is joined by Hopkins' friend Peter Robbins, who was featured prominently in the documentary. Linda accuses the late Carol Rainey of being "a bitter ex-wife" attempting to ruin the reputation of Hopkins her former husband. She says the producers misled her and the film undermines her name and character.

Linda told me: "We are also suing Carol’s estate because she stole property from Hopkins that now rightfully belongs to Budd’s daughter and was used in the series. My attorneys have already filed documents with the NY Supreme court. The arguments will start on Dec 5"

In a conversation on a Facebook group, Linda hit out at claims that the case is a hoax and "evidence of forgeries with her handwriting is shown...poor Budd"

But Linda replies: "All high officials, who receive and reply to a lot of letters , do not sign their letters by hand. They use an ink pad, and a rubber signature stamp instead so no forgeries here. It’s not poor Budd - it’s poor Netflex and their producers - whether we win or lose the case."

Linda was asked "What about your handwriting on the envelope on the letter received from the guards?"

Linda cast doubt on Carol’s "so-called handwriting expert" and added "But his untruthfulness doesn’t compare to Carol’s after she stole property from Budd Hopkins’ Estate that rightfully belonged to his daughter, documents relating to my case and the rights to the Witnessed book her father wrote. It doesn’t matter what you think about the case or of me. People are going to believe - what they want to believe no matter what the true evidence/proof is - which wasn’t told in the documentary. In fact, I’m not trying to convince anyone. I don’t care. My priority is suing Netflex for their intentional deceptions to make Budd Hopkins, Peter Robbins and me look bad. Perhaps, Netflex won’t make other abductees look bad after I’m finished with them. There are certain details I have to keep quiet to protect the court case. Why would I risk the court case for someone whom doesn’t know me and visa versa?. The only people I owe explanations to are to my family, closest friends and the court. The evidence was not presented in the film so it was not balanced but slanted to make Peter and me look bad."

In my interview with Linda she added "The producers and Netflex intentionally deceived me. They didn’t tell us that Carol was going to appear in the series. Had we known, we wouldn’t have gotten involved. We were told that Carol was only giving them film clips and photos she had taken herself many years ago, but withheld from us that she was appearing in the series."

Linda has written her own book about the UFO abduction and she revealed "The only reason I appeared, when they first contacted me, is because I had hoped that it would be good for a book I’ve completed, and was hoping to find a literary agent or publisher. I dont want to self publish. After 35 years, I’ve completed the book which is the personal account of the whole case and how it affected my family and me. It’s almost a memoir, but not quite. It goes into detail about what I saw in the object and what had happened."

She commented on a subsequent published investigation critique of the case which referred to a science fiction book called Nighteyes published shortly before the abduction, which it was claimed included features mirroring her experience.

"The Nighteyes book had nothing to do with my case. In fact, it’s completely different. The debunkers found the book and had hoped it would have passed the test, but it didn’t."
